[Q] TwonkyServer to stream Spotify?

Postby mbze430 » Thu Jun 21, 2012 12:09 am

Maybe this have been discussed before. If not, here is my question.

Is there anyway to (or develop) a method to stream Spotify playlist or Radio from Spotify via a TwonkyServer? I ran across a Google search and landed on LINN site, and some people are using DS (directsound) wrapper on the PC that is running Spotify software and then forwarding them to a TwonkyServer as a m3u.

If that is the case, why couldn't there be just a direct function within TwonkyServer to do all of that?

We are in the process of adding Spotify support to our Twonky Beam mobile app. Our contract with Spotify currently prevents us from adding Spotify support to our Mac/PC software, but that doesn't prevent us from supporting their Play button in the future (as I understand it).
