TwonkyBeam now works with some select Sony Bravia TVs including the KDL-32E5520. Once you toggle the Renderer Function on, you can beam JPEGs, MP3s and MPEG video files from any Web page to your TV. To do this use your remote to navigate to Home, Settings, Network function, Renderer Function. Then toggle Renderer Function to 'On'. After you close and reopen your browser, your TV should appear in the devices section of TwonkyBeam.

TwonkyBeam now works with the Denon AVR-3808CI. Setup is easy. Just connect an Ethernet cable to the reciever and set the "Source Select" knob to "Net/USB Stereo". Now you should be able to beam MP3s to the receiver. The only known issue is that you can't control the volume remotely using Beam.

Hi,

I am thinking about buying a Samsung TV, a ue32b7000. My question is whether this device works as a DLNA DMR (Renderer). I am planning to use it in conjunction with TwonkyBeam and the Windows 7 "Play To" functionality. Thus far, I haven't been able to find any information with regards to the Samsung DLNA implementation, even the helpdesk from Samsung did not have an answer for me yet. Somebody out there who has any knowledge/experience with this?

Thanks,
JEEVO.

We were originally told that only Samsung TVs that are 37" and larger were DMRs. That could have changed however. You might want to find a store that carries this model and ask them if you can connect a laptop to it to test it before buying. Either that, or find a store that accepts returns.

In order to work with TwonkyBeam a device needs to be DLNA-certified as a DMR or Windows 7 certified to support 'Play To'. As far as I can tell Patriot Box Office doesn't currently meet either of these requirements. Let's hope they upgrade their firmware in the future to support one of these important features.
