Why have the webbrowse pages been removed from twonker server 7 beta?
We used to be able to leverage the following:
http ://<server_ip_address>:9000/webbrowse-n95
http ://<server_ip_address>:9000/webbrowse-e61
http ://<server_ip_address>:9000/webbrowse-psp
http ://<server_ip_address>:9000/resources/wiiPlayer.html
http ://<server_ip_address>:9000/resources/wiiPlayer.swf
In a previous post I talked about the lack of ability/fearure
for a base url in the web interface
viewtopic.php?f=30&t=10306
Which is also further compounded by not having a layout for mobile/tablet devices
not that the above ones were perfect, but they did the trick
Sure, I know one could argue the point of Twonky Mobile
But that isnt free on all devices, last time I checked
As I paid for it on IOS
But even if it was free
I sometimes dont want yet another app to manage (tech support wise)
for freinds and family
webbrowse-n95 is a life save for me
For example:
The four kids are sort of easy to deal with when it comes to
showing them what to do to stream stuff to the tv/phone/tablet
basically just give them the url
Now thnk about when there freinds come over think sleep over etc.
The above is still easy as they can just go the webpage
Without that, if I move to version 7.x
I would have to tell them to go download an app
and tell them how to use etc.
A lot of management
This brings up my next point
you could also go down the myTwonky path
and tell them to go create an account
and then from that page, it "should" be able to see the local running server
when they are connected to the local network
thats fine too
But the problem I have with that approach
is that the myTwonky page is not geared towards mobile/tablet devices
hence no mobile site version
I hope you give serious thought into helping aleviate these issues
